Faithful Expectations

“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

Psalm 100:5 (NIV)

We have just finished the season of Advent, where we have all been waiting with anticipation to
celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Advent gifts of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love,
not meant just for the month of December, are our blessings to carry with us always, especially into the
coming year.
A new year often finds people pondering what lies ahead. Perhaps you have a list of resolutions, plans
and goals…or maybe you find yourself stuck in the shadow of doubt or depression, with fear of the
unknown lurking in your mind. Whatever your thoughts, situation or circumstance, we all tend to have
some concern over what is in our future. When worry begins to overwhelm us, let us reflect on the
certainty that God is always faithful! We can fully expect him to keep his promises! Let the words of
Psalm 100 renew our spirts and keep us grounded in the eternal security we have through our faith.
Throughout the Pandemic, I have found comfort in this scripture. It has reminded me to have an
attitude of trust and thankfulness, even in the midst of all of the uncertainty and upheaval. I hope you
will take time to read the entire passage and choose to move forward into this new year with “faithful
expectations”.

Dear Lord, we praise you that you are good! Your promises endure and echo through the years, bringing
peace to us who trust, drowning out our fears. We thank you that you equip us for all that you call us to
do. Help us to use the gifts of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love to enrich our faith in you. Amen.
