You were sent the following email recently. But we need to clarify, that if you are volunteering at sights, you will need to sign up on line. Go to the following link to do so.

We can have an over abundance of volunteers at sites because of safe at home order and COVID 19.

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT ALL GO THROUGH THE WEBSITE. THAT INCLUDES UMCOR REPRESENTATIVES!

     I am Rev. Brandon Halford, the Hattiesburg District Disaster Relief Coordinator for UMCOR. The Hattiesburg District and I are responsible for nine counties in this district and eight of them have been hit with tornados. Five of these areas have been deemed Federal Disaster Areas. FEMA is not coming to the disaster areas because of COVID-19. MEMA has asked us to coordinate and help the local community apply appropriately for Federal Aid since we will not receive FEMA help. MEMA and CSpire are connecting with UMCOR to set up central hub at LL Roberts UMC in Jefferson-Davis County, Seminary UMC in Covington County, and Antioch UMC in Jones County to aid applying for FEMA in these areas. We will be launching these three sites on Monday starting at 8:00 A.M. and a fourth site at Gitano UMC in SoSo Next Wednesday. 

     We need volunteers to help with these sites. We will have ZOOM training, in-person, and recorded, with an attachment of how to help step by step. We will also have Personal Protective Equipment (masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers) for everyone helping. We need 5-6 volunteers per day at each location.
