Dear Friends of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare,
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our communities have been asking how they can help.  The most important thing you can do right now is to remain safely in your homes and continue to practice social distancing on the occasions that you have to venture out.  While you are home, however, you can help protect our frontline healthcare workers by making handmade face masks.
We have heard from multiple community organizations and local sewing groups asking how they can create and donate these masks, and we have gratefully created a mechanism and system for them to do so. To help preserve our supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE), Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is providing instructions on how to sew face masks for our frontline Associates. These masks will not take the place of PPE but will help extend the utilization of the N-95 masks that are crucial for proper healthcare.
We are humbly requesting your assistance as soon as possible. Please see the attached instructions about how to properly sew and create the face masks, and share the invitation to help with your communities. Masks may be mail to or dropped off at Methodist Le Bonheur Community Outreach, located at 600 N. Jefferson in the Medical District of Memphis, or to Germantown United Methodist Church, located at 2331 S. Germantown Road.
