Special Called Annual Conference Session

The 2023 Special Called Session of the Mississippi Annual Conference is set for December 9, 2023, at Anderson United Methodist Church in Jackson. The sole purpose of this called session is to ratify the disaffiliation of those churches who have voted to disaffiliate from the Mississippi Annual Conference and The United Methodist Church. There will be no other actions considered or votes taken at this session.

In addition, there will be a special called clergy session for the expressed voting on updates to the business of the annual conference, BAC, with regards to:

• Question 18. Who have been discontinued as local pastors (¶320.1)?
• Question 38. Who are discontinued as provisional members (¶327)?
• Question 42a. Who have had their conference membership terminated by withdrawal to unite with another denomination (¶360.1, .4)?
• Questions, 49, 50 and 51 for those who are entering retired relationship.   

The BAC questions will be released prior to the called clergy session and taken in a group vote as was done in the June clergy session. We will also have a time for prayer.

Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. The called clergy session will meet in the sanctuary at 9:00 a.m. The called annual conference will meet in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. There will be no online voting and the called session will be livestreamed and available through conference media.
